B Good Sportsmanship shall be the prevailing attitude at all CDC sanctioned events.

B In league play, any minor changes to these Rules must be agreed to by both Captains.

B A captain will be spokesman for the team to other teams and to the league and spokesman for the league and the CDC to his team. Distribution of league information and materials, including prizes, is the captain's responsibility. An alternate captain will be designated by each team, to act in the captain's absence.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR MATCH PLAY

1.      Starting time for matches is 8:00 pm. Deadline for starting a match is 15 minutes past the official start time. A team that cannot field at least 2 players by the Match deadline forfeits the entire match.

2.      A team need only field 2 players to shoot the match. A team or teams of 2 or 3 players will place their shooters in any order they wish to shoot them, possibly 1st and 3rd and 4th, or any position in singles, combined or split in doubles. If a game is scheduled and there is no opponent scheduled, the team fielding a shooter(s) wins by forfeit, 1 point. If neither captain scheduled a player for a game, that point is not awarded to either team. (i.e. A match in which neither team fields 4 players may yield less than the maximum possible points.)

3.      Home Team Captains are to enter the names of their players and schedule both doubles matches before giving the ScoreSheet to the Visiting Team Captain. Visiting Team Captains are to schedule their doubles matches, without referring to the roster of the Home Team.

4.      All sets of games (singels-01, doubles-01, singles Cricket and doubles Cricket) must be scheduled before the beginning of the first game in that set.

5.      Arrangements between Team Captains may be made to change game order to accommodate late-arriving darters. Except with prior approval of the opposing Team Captain, changing the order of the roster before the start of play has begun is not allowed.

6.      Each player can play in only one of each type of game (singels-01, doubles-01, singles Cricket and doubles Cricket). In 4-person Team games there is no restriction.

7.      No more than 5 minutes should elapse between games. Once the match has begun, only those who will participate for match points should practice on the board to be used for that game. Each player is limited to 3 practice throws, for a total of 9 darts. While competing for a match point, a player may not practice on another board. When shooting "best of 3", practice is permitted before the first game only.

8.      The home team must supply a scorekeeper for every game. This person should exhibit good dart manners while scoring. The visiting captain may request the replacement of an inadequate scorekeeper.

9.      The scorekeeper must maintain an accurate account of darts thrown, as well as game score. (a) The score for a missing player of a short-manned team is recorded as zero, thus maintaining the correct team rotation. (b) Only the last throw of any game may be counted as less than 3 darts thrown. (c) The scorekeeper may verbalize points scored and/or points left only at the request of the shooter. The scorekeeper may not give the shooter the number combinations or out shots. It is permissible for a partner, teammate or spectator to advise the thrower during a match.

10.     Mathematical errors in scoring shall not be corrected after a member of each team has finished a turn.

11.     Never during a turn should anyone move or adjust a dart already in the board.

12.     Home Team Captains are responsible to check that all dates, codes, points, and monetary amounts are correctly entered into the blank spaces of the ScoreSheet.

13.     Each week, captains should report results by the division, team names, and the letter code that appears on your schedule (team code) by email (scores@darter.org) or telephone 216-226-CLUB [2582] by noon Friday following the match date.

14.     Any changes to game format or schedule must be agreed upon by both Captains. Otherwise, the League Rules and the ScoreSheet are in effect.

15.     To claim a Forfeit, mail a completed ScoreSheet to The Club by the usual deadline. For a BYE, it is not necessary to mail a ScoreSheet; do not pay Fees.

16.     Disputes should be handled on a captain-to-captain basis whenever possible. Disputes and protests must be brought to the league director's attention for resolution within seven days of the occurrence.

17.     Checks for Weekly Fees are to be made out to: The C.D.C., checks for any other amount should include a written explanation. All weekly fees are due by the Friday following you week 7 match. All membership fees must be current before you week 4 match.
